About the event
Evaluation is often viewed as the contribution of external, neutral party providing evidence of a fair and impartial process of review. Despite this, evaluative framing has largely ignored systemic inequities impacting minoritized populations. Research and evaluation often center dominant perspectives thereby reinforcing a deficit framework. This session will present current research and best practices, offering considerations and case studies for promoting equity in evaluative practice. Engaged participants will gain resources to: Describe the current research on equity centered evaluation. Recognize current practices and the ways they may uphold unequal outcomes. Review best practice examples for equitable practice in evaluation.
